Prescribed Fire at Beaver Creek Conservation Area

Due to favourable conditions, the Meewasin Valley Authority has scheduled a prescribed fire for this afternoon at the Beaver Creek Conservation Area. Prescribed fires are regularly conducted to remove invasive species, reduce the risk of wildfires, and aid in habitat management and restoration, among other benefits.
Conditions permitting, the fire(s) will proceed at the affected site. Beaver Creek will remain open. Meewasin cautions observers to watch from a safe distance and follow any directions provided by Prescribed Fire personnel.
