Meewasin Trail Enhancements

Current Enhancement Projects

The area spans from the Traffic Bridge to Kinsmen Park.

The work includes enhancements to 1.5 km of existing primary Meewasin Trail and adjacent areas through Friendship Park, Kiwanis Memorial Park and the trail connection under the University Bridge.

This project has been approved to proceed by the Meewasin Board and the City of Saskatoon.

This project will be completed in phases; Kiwanis Memorial Park South was completed in 2023 and Kiwanis Memorial Park Promenade was completed in 2025. Kiwanis Memorial Park Central and Kinsmen Upper Link are under construction for the 2026 season. Future construction phases will proceed as scheduling and funding allows.

This project includes enhancements to a 215m portion of existing primary trail connection through Kiwanis Memorial Park including:

  • Replacement of the existing asphalt trails,
  • New site furniture,
  • New plantings,
  • Upgraded trail lighting.

This project will be underway summer of 2026. During construction the Meewasin Trail will be closed with a detour in effect.

This is the fourth phase of planned Meewasin Trail enhancements through the downtown area.

This project includes enhancements to a portion of the existing Meewasin Trail connecting under the University Bridge in Kiwanis Memorial Park, including:

  • Replacement and widening of existing asphalt trail
  • New accessible asphalt trail
  • New site furniture
  • New plantings
  • Updated trail lighting

This project will be underway summer of 2026. During construction the Meewasin Trail will be closed with a detour in effect.

This is the third phase of planned Meewasin Trail enhancements through the downtown area.
