In 2015 Meewasin celebrated International Trails Day with the opening of the Meewasin Trail / Trans Canada Trail connecting Saskatoon to Wanuskewin Heritage Park. Meewasin thanked the many donors, supporters, and campaign volunteers who contributed to the raising of $8M in the Meewasin Matters Trail Campaign that was initially launched in October 2013.

Construction on the southeast portion to Chief Whitecap Park was completed in Fall 2015 resulting in approximately 80 km of Meewasin Trail.
