International Trails Day is an annual celebration of recreation trails to promote trail development, the use of trails and the healthy lifestyle they encourage.  Meewasin in cooperation with Trans Canada Trails and the Parkland Trails Association invite you and your organization or group to celebrate with us by walking, running and/or rolling the first Saturday in June on the Meewasin Trail.

Meewasin celebrated International Trails Day Saturday, June 7, 2014, by encouraging the people of Saskatoon and area to walk, run and roll on the Meewasin Trail, to learn about trails and to explore how they can support trail development in the Meewasin Valley. There are 64 km of trail in the Meewasin Trail system, and Meewasin, in partnership with Trans Canada Trail, is wrapping up a Meewasin Matters Capital Campaign to raise $8 million to expand the trails in the system another 16 km to Wanuskewin Heritage Park in the northwest and Chief Whitecap Park in the southeast. To date, $7 million has been committed to the project.
