News Release - Highlights of the Meewasin Board Meeting September 4, 2009

1. Meewasin approved:
   
   
   
   1. the application by the City of Saskatoon to construct a south leachate collection system at the Spadina Landfill
   2. The application by the City of Saskatoon to construct a grit handling facility at the Spadina Landfill
   3. The application to construct a Meewasin Trail extension near the Regional Psychiatric Centre prairie
   4. The application from the City of Saskatoon to construct a new lift station within Rotary Park on the east side of the south abutment and a new 600 mm forcemain river crossing underneath the Sid Buckwold Bridge.


2. The Meewasin board received the "Effectiveness Report". The report by management is based on the "policy model of governance" and involves evaluating measurable goals. The recommendations will be referred to in the Meewasin 2009-2014 Five Year Plan expected later this year.
