News Release - Hightlights of the Meeawsin Board Meeting Friday, August 7, 2009

- There will be a news conference Monday, August 10, 2009, 10:00 a.m. at the Meewasin Valley Centre, 402 3rd Avenue South to announce the new chair of Meewasin.
- Meewasin made new advisory committee appointments to replace retiring board members.
- Appointed to the Audit Committee was Randy Fernets.
- Appointed to the Education Advisory Committee was Marion Ghiglione.
- Appointed to the Design Advisory Committee was Brent Martian.
- Appointed to the Fund Development Committee was Marion Ghiglione.
- Meewasin approved the application from the City of Saskatoon to construct a stormwater pond and associated stormwater sewer and outfall to service the northwest portion of the Evergreen residential neighbourhood. The approval is subject to several conditions.
- Meewasin approved a land exchange agreement between the City of Saskatoon and TransGas Ltd for a 50 by 50 metre site within SE23-36-06-W3 to provide a site for a utility service building that along with a 16-inch natural gas pipeline, will serve the future needs of the expanded Queen Elizabeth Power Station.
- Meewasin appointed Meyers Norris Penney LLP as auditors for the year ending March 31, 2010.
