Meewasin’s Cameco Riverfront Campaign, over the top!
May 7, 2009
Today, Meewasin announced that it has surpassed the $2M goal of the Cameco Riverfront Campaign. A celebration with sponsors and donors was held at the Frank and Ellen Remai Arts Centre to acknowledge all supporters who helped Meewasin to raise more than $2.05 M. The $2 million campaign is the final funding phase to complete the $13 million Riverfront at River Landing, Phase 1 development. Initial funding was provided by the Government of Canada, Government of Saskatchewan, City of Saskatoon and Meewasin.
Representatives from various sponsors were on hand including Cameco whose $250,000 contribution ensured that every donation went directly to this ambitious and dynamic project.
Other major corporate sponsors of the Campaign including Affinity Credit Union, SaskTel, CIBC, Dakota Dunes Community Development Corporation, AREVA, and West Wind Aviation joined individual donors celebrate to the completion of the campaign.
Designed to bring people and our community together, the Riverfront at River Landing integrates an urban plaza with an interpreted visitor experience unlike anywhere in the world. A combination of public space and business interests, the area is tasteful, understated and timeless.
