News Release - Highlights of the Meewasin Board Meeting Friday, September 5, 2008

Meewasin approved- The application by Lake Placid River Landing Inc. to construct a mixed use development comprised of four buildings connected through public amenities and architectural features;
- The application of the City of Saskatoon to construct a section of trail to connect to the existing Meewasin Trail to the north and south crosswalks for the intersection of Spadina Crescent and 33rd Street;
- The restoration and construction of a section of trail (with seating nodes and interpretive panels) on a recently-acquired property currently known as the Episcopal Property;
- The application by the University of Saskatchewan and Darrel Epp Architects to construct a two-car garage at the University of Saskatchewan President's Residence, replacing an existing single car garage.
- The membership of Meewasin in the Prairie Water Directive. This coalition brings together the diverse experience of environmentalists and water policy researchers from across the Prairie Provinces and beyond. The purpose is to develop a collective vision and expectations for sustainable water management in the Prairie Provinces.
