Development Review Committee:
Any development in excess of $25 000 in Meewasin's conservation zone requires the Authority's approval. A technical committee of local professionals including planner, architects and engineers and landscape architects advise the Authority as to technical merits of an application.
The Development Review Committee will assist the Board as follows:
- Review and advise the Board on development applications of proposed improvements;
- Review and advise the Board on additions to the Meewasin Development Plan; and,
- Review and advise the Board on the development review process.
The Committee shall have no fewer than six members and not more than ten members appointed by the Board. As per section 14.1 of the Meewasin Valley Authority Act, the members of the committee shall include;
- At least two architects who are registered as architects pursuant to The Architects Act;
- At least two professional community planners who are registered professional community planners pursuant to The Community Planning Profession Act;
- At least two engineers who are registered as professional engineers pursuant to The Engineering Profession Act, and at least one of whom will be a geotechnical engineer.
